The stars clashed in the PWHL last night – literally. Here's Marie-Philip Poulin absolutely smashing Taylor Heise in the midst of an intense game between Montreal and Minnesota. Montreal beat Minnesota 2-1 on the road, with Tereza Vanišová scoring two points. Minnesota out-shot Montreal 45-26, furthering the PDO-bending the league is kicking themselves off with.

Heise sort of unintentionally retaliated after.

Sandee Astrom made history in Thunder Bay at the age of 11 when she joined the North End Blazers minor hockey team. The officials eventually kicked her off the team, but this story between her and her coach was really sweet.

Back in 1982, she made front-page news for being the first girl to play on a Thunder Bay north minor hockey team. More than 40 years later she and the coach to fought to keep her on the ice are reflecting on that experience, as the PWHL takes off.

The always-forgettable bi-annual Leafs-Jets game was another snooze-fest. I-don't-know-why-I-used-so-many-hyphens. Nick Robertson had a strong game, so we'll see if he can keep it up.

The NHL will be hosting a ball hockey tournament at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in partnership with Pride Tape, presumably to wash away their homophobic policies on inclusive team events. I hope the participants, which include the Toronto Gay Hockey Association, have lots of fun, and you all have a chance to go.
