Easton Cowan finished the OHL regular season seventh in points, but second in points per game. He set a new modern record points streak with 68 points in 36 games to close the season. A definitive record list is hard to find online, but it's believed Cowan has the second longest streak in 30 years (behind Bill Bowler). Beyond the streak, Cowan has been a workhorse at 5v5 and on the penalty kill.

Read more on Cowan with Brigs' prospect reports, which he'll have regularly as junior playoffs get underway.

Maple Leafs Prospect Report: Playoff Updates
We’re a week into the start of the CHL playoffs and NCAA tournament, with the bulk of games happening over the Easter weekend.

Meanwhile in the NHL, Auston Matthews scored #61 and #62 as the Leafs outscored their problems against the Florida Panthers 6-4. The Leafs were outshot 25-31, but got to the front of the net often enough to beat Bobrovsky and Anthony Stolarz five times. Samsonov got the win on the other end, the 100th of his career. Like Keefe, he's spent his career on successful teams so he got to 100 wins relatively quickly (.599 win percentage).

Recap: Matthews gets 62 and Leafs manage to outscore themselves
The Panthers were really bad at five-on-five, but they sure got some serious scoring chances.

Cathy looked at Timothy Liljegren's value and put some context on the lower defender market as a whole.

Timothy Lijegren and his next contract
Is Liljegren the next domino to fall? More likely the last.

The Leafs signed NCAA free agent Jacob Quillan to a 2-year ELC starting next season. He'll start on the Marlies to finish this season. Read into Brigs' detailed signing article on him for some interesting stories.

Toronto Maple Leafs sign Jacob Quillan
Looking at Toronto’s latest prospect that was signed as an NCAA free agent out of Quinnipiac. Hope Brad also included a signing bonus so he can buy an apology gift to Matt Knies!

Akil Thomas made his NHL debut with the LA Kings. He's a fan favourite among the PPP masthead.

Sidney Crosby got his 82nd point this season, meaning he's clinched his 19th straight season at a point-per-game pace. One more season and he beats Gretzky's record. I have to think Evolving Wild didn't know that he got 82 at first. Meanwhile, Kyle Dubas couldn't help but be himself, haha.

It was blatant what Ted Leonsis did to Washington with right-wing Virginia governor Glenn Youngkin. By all accounts, how it fell apart in the Virginia assembly was allegedly full of "impropriety and slander". Now, Virginia's politics are in turmoil after Leonsis somehow both crawled back to Washington and got half a billion for arena renovations.

Collapse of NBA, NHL arena deal prompts recriminations, allegations of impropriety in Virginia | CBC Sports
Ted Leonsis’ handshake deal with Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin to relocate the teams to a taxpayer-backed arena in Alexandria, Va., collapsed Wednesday, weeks after a bumpy slog of a defeat in the Virginia General Assembly. Leonsis, apparently not willing to wait for a second shot in Virginia, reemerged in Washington, which had offered his Monumental Sports & Entertainment a more than half-billion-dollar US arena deal to stay.
Wizards, Caps to stay in D.C. with arena upgrade
The NBA’s Washington Wizards and NHL’s Washington Capitals are staying in the District of Columbia.
