The Canadian women's U18 team has promoted Scarborough's own Vicky Sunohara to be their new head coach. The former centre is a seven-time World Champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist at Salt Lake City and Turin, and CWHL champion as captain of the Brampton Thunder.
Sunohara is of Japanese-Ukrainian heritage and has been coaching the University of Toronto for about a decade. She's been the assistant coach for the U18 team for a couple tournaments and is now the head coach.
The below is from her Wikipedia page. It is quite the read if you have some time.
She has been described as "the Wayne Gretzky of women's hockey" and is recognized as a trailblazer and pioneer for the sport. In 2020, Sunohara was named to "TSN Hockey’s All-Time Women’s Team Canada," in recognition of her status as one of Canada’s best female hockey players of all time.

The Habs signed Justin Barron to a two-year contract. $1.15 million AAV.
