The Calgary Flames, for whom Dillon Dube played for, released a statement yesterday following the direction to surrender that they were not made aware of the charges againt Dube when he requested a leave of absence.
"We have now become aware of the charge of sexual assault that has been laid against Dillon Dube. We take this matter very seriously. Because the matter is now pending legal proceedings, we will have no further comment at this time. We had no knowledge of pending charges at the time Dillon’s request for a leave of absence was granted."

Do the Flames have a plausible case for deniability that Dube was under the eye of the investigation? Did only previous management know? I can't tell, but considering how full hockey is with under the table deals and gossip, I'm surprised they weren't prepared for this.
I've heard that some of the players were directed by their lawyers not to tell their teams any details about potential charges. Not sure how this played out in Calgary, but something to keep in mind.

The CHL and NCAA are set to create an agreement that allows OHL, WHL, and QMJHL players to play in the NCAA. This deal basically neuters the BCHL's power in its secession.
It is being reported that the CHL/NCAA are working on a deal to allowed D1 colleges to recruit Major Jr Players. If that happens it will make the BCHL moves minimized significantly. Makes sense given the fact @TheWHL started their scholarship program recently.
