Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans! Just some quick links for you to chatter about on Friday morning.

Last night the Leafs lost their first game of March and their first in five games; the last loss was on February 22nd to the Calgary Flames.

Leafs falter in tired loss to Canucks

Losing game two of a back to back isn’t anything new, and after the dominating performance against Edmonton I can forgive a loss. Just don’t make it a streak. The Leafs play the Canucks again on Saturday night - at a more reasonable 7PM start time - and then head home to host the Jets* on Tuesday night.

The Maple Leafs are still first in the NHL by points, but have slipped to third when sorting by points percentage, just behind the Vegas Golden Knights and Tampa Bay Lightning. Both of those teams have played fewer games (6 and 4 respectively) than the Maple Leafs.

In Calgary, the Flames may have beaten the Ottawa Senators 7-3 but that didn’t stop the team from firing head coach Geoff Ward post-game and replacing him with former Flames coach and GM Darryl Sutter.

FLAMES NAME DARRYL SUTTER HEAD COACH

The Flames aren’t messing around with interm coaches.

Good job Flames, happy to see you’ve learned from your coaching changes last season.
