Yesterday, on the last day to waive players before the roster has to be submitted today at 5pm, the Leafs waived Matt Benning, Dakota Mermis, Michael Pezzetta and Henry Thrun.

All four have cleared, opening up several possible rosters for later today.

As of this morning's practice, Craig Berube would not commit to Easton Cowan remaining on the roster, playing in the opener if he does, nor would he clarify James Reimer's status. It's not actually his job to make those announcements so that will all come later.

Ben Danford has yet to be loaned back to his junior team as well.

Along with the sudden influx of players claimed today, the future roster is very unclear.
