Auston Matthews, at only the age of 26, has passed Mats Sundin for the Leafs all-time record of even strength goals. Matthews' 68th goal of the season in last night's loss to the Devils was his 51st even strength goal of the season (the first player to do that in 31 years), putting him one ahead of Sundin's previous franchise record.

Auston Matthews has more even strength goals than everyone in the league save for three guys has goals.

And I just have to reiterate this one point again. Auston Matthews is only 26 and he passed the Mats Sundin in half the time. That's just incredible.

Matthews and Tavares both had two goals in last night's game, but the Leafs still lost.

Recap: Devils can’t stop Auston Matthews, but the Leafs can’t stop the Devils
Auston Matthews scores again and again, becomes the third highest scorer in Leafs history. Also, a hockey game happened.

Rodion Amirov's family was in attendance for the first time. They a very teary-eyed standing ovation. Rodion Amirov Forever.

Easton Cowan was out there in the playoffs continuing his point streak.

The Pittsburgh Penguins woke up from their slumber and are racing into the playoffs. Sid the Kid might be 26 again, too.

Oof.

The Leafs last three games are Detroit on Saturday, Florida on Tuesday, and Tampa Bay on Wednesday. That Detroit game might be wild. The Florida game will be a tune-up before the playoffs, people will make a lot about that game even though getting out of it healthy will be the only goal. The Tampa Bay probably won't have any implications for anyone, play the scrubs.

Happy Friday!
