Okay, it's the US holiday now, and there will be lots of bitter and unhappy and also bizarre and inappropriate things going on today, so instead of that we have a spelling test. More of a lesson really. Ready?

Okay Nicolas Roy is French Canadian, so there is no h there. He's Nic most of the time, the safe way to mention him. He's listed as being from Amos, QC, which is up north, due east of Kirkland Lake, so if you're from there, he's your neighbour. His name could be said to mean victorious king.

Michael Pezzetta has two zeds and two tees. He is from Toronto, you may have heard of that place, and his name means little bit. Which is what he'll play: a little bit of hockey. Or 'ockey if you are French.

Matias Maccelli is a Finn, so there's no h in there for him either. He is from Turku and played for the local club there. Fun fact, Evolving Hockey seems to have automated their player name capitalization, and set it up assuming anyone with Macc was Scottish. So he's MacCelli there. His name is actually Italian and comes from his American-born mother. It's meaning comes from the given name Michael. Matias, naturally, equals Matthew.

Yesterday was the opening of development camp and there was the usual stuff going on including some media interviews.
