The Marlies came roaring back and absolutely demolished the Devils 7-2 last night. And that wasn't all that was demolished!

Everyone got in on the action with goals by Arcobello, Kapanen, Brennan, Leipsic, Soshnikov (x2), and Brown. Nylander, Connor Carrick and Sam Carrick each picked up 2 assists.

Unfortunately there was also some very bad news form the game: Andreas Johnson took a vicious elbow to the head. He was down several minutes, carried of the ice and taken to the hospital. Katya has a full report here.

There will likely be an update on his condition today, but as of last night Sheldon Keefe said Johnson did not remember being hit, or anything that happened after that.

The goon from the Devils was handed a match penalty. Keefe believes he could be suspended well into next season based on AHL precedent, known to be harsh on these hits.

Some good news is that the Marlies' win guarantees there will at least be a game 6 back at Ricoh Coliseum this Saturday at 3:00PM. Make sure to use our 30% discount code when you buy tickets "PPPMARLIES16".

Stanley Cup Playoffs

What. A. Game!

This guy you've never heard of was the big star of the night.

Down 3-0 the Capitals staged a third period come back and tied up the game. The final Capitals goal was on a 5 on 3 power play stemming from a truly bizarre two minutes where the Penguins somehow took 3 consecutive delay of game penalties, practically gifting the Capitals the tying goal.

In OT the Penguins almost put it away first, but Jay Beagle somehow did this!

I don't even!

But then Nick Bonino put it away for real (off a setup by PHIL!), and Ovi could do nothing but sit dumbfounded on the bench that this was all happening again.

So that's it. The Capitals are unceremoniously dumped out in only the second round.

Gird your loins. The taeks will be coming soon, and they will be hot!
