I was really hoping we could have avoided this, but after losing game 6 in Toronto by a score of 4-2 the Toronto Maple Leafs will once again have to beat the Boston Bruins in their home arena in a game 7. It was a game for the taking, but the Bruins capitalized on their power play chances while the Leafs... didn’t. They also did not look as dominant at 5 on 5 as they had in previous games.

So... onto game bloody seven, again.

My quick Wikipedia search found that the Leafs have played in 23 game 7’s in their history, with an all-time record of 12 wins and 11 losses. The Bruins, meanwhile, have an all-time record of 14 wins and 12 losses in game 7’s — they’ve actually played the most game 7’s of any team in NHL history.

Excuse me, one moment...

Don’t mind me, I’ll be at the bar until Tuesday, praying to the porcelain gods that Auston Matthews continues his streak, and guys like Mitch Marner, John Tavares, William Nylander, and others join him. Freddie can keep being Freddie.

At least the Marlies won again. Jeremy Bracco was the OT hero to put the Marlies up 2-0 in their series against the Americans with a slick deke and backhand shot.

The Marlies can win this series with on Wednesday here in Toronto.

There isn’t much going on these days since more of the series are wrapping up in the NHL, but we did have one game. San Jose staved off elimination thanks to a short handed goal in the second overtime by Tomas Hertl.

I mean come on, if Martin Jones can save their season by stopping 58 of 59 shots against the Leafs can finally beat the Bruins in a game 7!

Happy Easter Monday everyone!

How confident are you going into game 7?
