Something we never thought we’d see in our lifetime happened last night. A Toronto sports team has won a game seven playoff game. Really.

The Toronto Raptors defeated the Philadelphia Sixers in game seven of their second round series and now face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

The fans, as they say, went wild.

In Maple Leafs news, Fedor Gordeev and the Guelph Storm defeated the Ottawa 67’s in game six of the OHL Championship Series to win the J. Ross Robertson Cup and will be the OHL representative at the 101st Memorial Cup tournament in Halifax.

The Storm had an easy round one against the Kitchener Rangers, but would need to come back from a 3-0 series deficit against the London Knights, down 3-1 to the Saginaw Spirit, and down 2-0 to the 67’s to get their fourth OHL championship.

The Prince Albert Raiders lost their game six to the Vancouver Giants in the WHL Finals, game seven goes tonight.

In big Leafs news:

Owen Nolan caught some fish.

Matt Frattin is unhappy about snow.

In less important news....

The Bruins went up 2-0 in the Eastern Conference Final over the Carolina Hurricanes.
