It’s not officially over, but, it’s over.

Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans and anyone who comes across this blog, however few of you there are.

It’s been just over a month since the last NHL game was played, and I’m looking at things through the lens of ‘last’ as in final now, instead of ‘ last’ as in previous.

The 2019/20 NHL season is over without ever properly ending.

No awards were given out. No playoffs were played. No redemption was had. No suffering in a game seven loss occurred.

Since I looked it all up to satisfy my own curiosity, I will let you know who had the final shot, goal, trade, whatever of the Maple Leafs season.

Final Win: Maple Leafs defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1, in Toronto, on March 10th.

And inside that game, came these finals.

Final Shot: Zach Hyman, wrist shot, saved by Andrei Vasilevsky.

Final Hit: Morgan Rielly on Ondrej Palat.

Final Block: Zach Hyman blocked a Brayden Point shot.

Final Face-Off: Auston Matthews won the draw against Anthony Cirelli.

Final Goal: Auston Matthews scored his 47th goal of the season on a wrist shot.

Final Assist: Mitch Marner had the primary on that goal, his 51st assist of the season.

Final Penalty: John Tavares tripped Mikhail Sergachev.

Final Save: Frederik Andersen saves a Kevin Shattenkirk slap shot.

Final loss: The Maple Leafs lost to the Anaheim Ducks 2-1 in Anaheim on March 6th.

Final trade: The Maple Leafs sent their #3 goalie Michael Hutchinson to the Colorado Avalanche for spare defender Calle Rosen on February 24th.

Final demotion: Timothy Liljegren sent to the Toronto Marlies on March 6th.

Final Promotion: Calle Rosen was recalled from the Toronto Malies on February 26th.

Final player waived: Dmytro Timashov was waived on February 23rd, he would be claimed by the Detroit Red Wings.

Final player claimed: The Maple Leafs did not claim any players on waivers.

Final Suspension: Alex Kerfoot was suspended for two games on November 25th for boarding Erik Johnsson of the Colorado Avalanche.

Wow. What a downer of a morning post, eh?

Here’s some other stuff:

There was a new episode of Back to Excited out:

A new trade tree is here, going over how bad the Alex Steen trade was:

If the Montreal Canadiens could have beaten the Maple Leafs in 1967 they would have.

But they didn’t.

Sore losers even 50+ years later.

There’s really nothing else happening. so I’ll just awkwardly end things here.

Keep on washing your hands folks!
