Before we get to the ex-Leafs, the big news from yesterday was the surprise announcement from the Bruins that Tuuka Rask has decided to opt-out of continuing to play, effective immediately. There’s all kinds of takes on this, but, really, there’s no need for any. He made a decision he believed was in his best interests, and that’s all that we need to know about it.
The Bruins still won their game, yesterday, but not with help from ex-Leafs player Par Lindholm. The Bruins have turned him into a goon!
Meanwhile, another ex-Leaf played in his first ever NHL playoff game, and made a big contribution. Carter Verhaeghe drew in to the Bolts lineup and setup Victor Hedman like a seasoned pro.
