The NHL Player Poll came out yesterday, and as always, it’s best enjoyed by scrolling right past the hockey questions (wait, Alex Ovechkin has a good shot? This is totally new information!) and into the “Player Personality” section, which includes the most important question: which NHL player is the most fashionable?

The players themselves voted for Auston Matthews, which is an incredibly solid choice, but the hilarious part is the runner-up. David Pastrnak dresses like an art student whose parents pay his credit card bill, and while Matthews clearly wants to seem creative and avant-garde, Pastrnak actually is. That man does not give a fuck. It’s incredible. Scrutinizing any of Pasta’s more unusual ensembles gives me some kind of joy-migraine. Like, look at this thing.

I can name at least five things that are wrong with this outfit, from the hat to the shoes to whatever heinous and vaguely suggestive things are happening with the tailoring at the crotch of his pants, and none of them matter. This is amazing. The dyed-to-match pocket square worn with a pair of slip-on sneakers is short-circuiting my brain. Matthews could not touch this level, no matter how hard he tried, because this kind of genius is spontaneous.

Meanwhile, there is still actual hockey being played! Last night the Tampa Bay Lightning took the series lead over the New York Islanders, and tonight the Montreal Canadiens and Vegas Golden Knights play Game 3 in their own tied series.

The Hlinka tournament has been officially scheduled:
