The Leafs, linked to John-Michael Liles at the trade deadline, have traded the 2012 second round pick acquired from the Boston Bruins in the Tomas Kaberle deal to acquire him from the Colorado Avalanche.

Liles is an offensive d-man, aged 30, who put up 46 points last year on the offensively challenged Avalanche. He has a $4.2M cap hit on a deal that expires in 2012.

First reaction is positive; this helps out our scoring and fills a hole on defense with a reasonable cap hit and term for a decent player.
