Prior to the release of the roster, Brad Treliving and Craig Berube met the media. Nothing very meaningful was discussed; however, Max Domi is day-to-day with a lower body injury, not serious.

As expected, the initial plan is to look at Matias Maccelli and/or Domi on the wing with Auston Matthews and Matt Knies, but that is a let's see if this works plan, not a lock for the season.

Treliving said he has tried to trade for a top-six forward, but there are few options with most teams re-signing their own players.

There are also some management/coaching/scouting announcements to come, most notably that Mark Giordano, who was with the Leafs coaching staff at the prospect tournament, is now with the Marlies in some capacity.
