Today the Maple Leafs have made it official, Curtis McElhinney has been hired as Director of Goaltending Development. That was expected, as he's been seen around the team lately.

Chris Bourque, who joined the team last year, will become a College Free Agent Scout.

This other news is very unexpected: Jake Muzzin has been named a Pro Scout.

This is not the first time the Leafs have had a player on LTIR after a career-ending injury join the staff. Stephane Robidas worked with the team in the final year of his contract.
