We already covered the arrival of Michael Pezzetta, and now the Leafs have added some more players.
Dakota Mermis you know, he was a depth defender who appeared in three games and spent most of the season on the Marlies.
Benoit-Olivier Groulx is a familiar name to AHL watchers, having done stints in Hartford and San Diego as well as playing some NHL for the Ducks.
He is 25, a left-shooting winger, and he has been known to put up good points in the AHL.
Travis Boyd, you should remember too from his previous stint on the Leafs. He is a right-shooting centre/winger and he played some big minutes in Arizona after leaving the Leafs in 2021 on waivers. He mostly played in the AHL last year on the Iowa Wild with 22 goals and 31 assists.
With his extensive NHL experience, he is a plug-and-play depth callup. The sort of players teams like as opposed to those development projects fans want to see.
This is a good tidy addition to the Marlies who have seen an exodus of several top forwards.
Good signings all.
The Marlies still need some players, but dev camp and the later rookie showcase should turn up some interesting options for AHL deals.
