Maple Leafs Sign Landon Sim To A Two-year, Entry-level Contract | Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Landon Sim to a two-year, entry-level contract beginning in the 2026-27 season. Sim, 21, skated in 13 games for the Toronto Marlies (AHL) this season, registering three goals and 31 penalty minutes, and appeared in 18 games

Landon Sim, currently with the Marlies on a one-year deal has been signed to a two-year ELC that begins next season. Originally drafted by St. Louis, they did not qualify him.

Sim, 21, skated in 13 games for the Toronto Marlies (AHL) this season, registering three goals and 31 penalty minutes, and appeared in 18 games with the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL), recording six points (two goals, four assists) and 44 penalty minutes. Prior to joining the Maple Leafs organization, Sim won the Memorial Cup with the London Knights. The New Glasgow, NS native skated in 213 career regular-season OHL games with London, posting 124 points (66 goals, 58 assists), while adding 23 points (16 goals, seven assists) in 30 career playoff games, along with two OHL championships (2024, 2025).

Last fall at the prospect tournament, there were two players trying to occupy the same niche, Sim and drafted junior Sam McCue. I thought Sim rendered McCue totally redundant. Brian, meanwhile said this:

Before I get to the main standouts, I'll give an honourary mention to Landon Sim for being a pleasant surprise, mostly because I was expecting basically nothing but he looks like he gets his role and knows how to grind.

So that's who he is, tough, grinder, energy player who likely gets called a spark plug. Oh, and his father was a tough guy in the NHL, and whenever Sim gets in a fight the camera swings to his dad in the stands. It was a Knights tradition, and it happened at the rookie event too.

Don't let that colour your perception of him too much. He's also zippy little winger size. There is some there, there, and he is only 21... we'll argue about his NHL upside in August because he's now on the T25 list.

PuckPedia has the contract at $955.000 AAV, two-way both years with $80,000 is signing bonus. Minors salary is capped at $85,000.
