Updated to include this information:

The team is leaving on their Muskoka trip, so there will be something like a Marlies camp left behind.

The Maple Leafs run a very serious business training camp these days, and they quickly tuck away the players who are AHLers on PTOs, and they've even waived some NHL-contracted AHLers already, cut the juniors save Ben Danford, and sorted the main camp out into what looks like the actual NHL team with a group of extras on hand to play that final road game in Detroit.

From the original 73 players, the formation now looks like this:

Players loaned to their junior teams:

Matthew Hlacar
Miroslav Holinka
Tyler Hopkins
Harry Nansi
Owen Conrad
Rylan Fellinger
Nathan Mayes

Sam McCue

Players waived and now formally on the Marlies roster:

Travis Boyd
Bo Groulx
Vinni Lettieri

Players moved today that did not require waivers:

Brandon Baddock
Matthew Barbolini
Gunnarwolfe Fontaine
Luke Grainger
Luke Haymes
Reese Johnson
Marc Johnstone
Ben King
Ryan Kirwan
Braeden Kressler
Alex Nylander
Cédric Paré
Jacob Quillan
Nick Rhéaume
Logan Shaw
Landon Sim
Marko Sikic
Sam Stevens
Ryan Tverberg
Borya Valis
Noah Chadwick
Ryan McCleary
Rhett Parsons
John Prokop
Chas Sharpe
Blake Smith
Cade Webber
Ken Appleby
Artur Akhtyamov
Vyacheslav Peksa

From the original roster there of AHL/ECHL players who have not formally been loaned down since the Marlies camp has not officially started but they don't show up at the main practice, I'm left with Sam McCue.

There is an NHL group of 24 players:

Easton Cowan
Max Domi
Calle Järnkrok
Dakota Joshua
David Kämpf
Matt Knies
Scott Laughton
Steven Lorentz
Matias Maccelli
Auston Matthews
Bobby McMann
William Nylander
Nick Robertson
Nic Roy
John Tavares
Simon Benoit *
Brandon Carlo
Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Jake McCabe
Morgan Rielly
Chris Tanev
Anthony Stolarz
Joe Woll ***
Dennis Hildeby

Finally, there is a group of bubble players who have practiced as of this weekend with the main group – this group has also included the three players waived, so likely Sam McCue is in this smaller group now:

Michael Pezzetta
Matt Benning
Ben Danford
Dakota Mermis
Phil Myers
Marshall Rifai **
Henry Thrun
William Villeneuve
James Reimer

*injured short term
**inured longer term
***on leave

The NHL group is going to get at least one defender out of the bubble group, possibly both Myers and Thrun depending on the status of Benoit. The excess at the NHL level is in forwards.

The AHL group got all goalies but Dennis Hildeby, who with Reimer on the roster on a PTO make the three goalies currently with the team.

The bubble group is not big enough to form a team, so some portion of the NHL group will join them for the final game on Saturday, and it is possible some of the Marlies will bounce back up to play in that game. That is, unless Craig Berube surprises us and just plays his NHL roster in that game as well. It would be a first if he did.

The home game is Thursday night, the final game on Saturday, and the big waivers day is Sunday with cap-compliant 23-man rosters due at 5 pm on Monday.
