Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans!

After last night's game against the Hurricanes we are a dozen games away from the playoffs, and you can feel the sense of excitement and dread looking over us.

Recap: Hurricanes overcome the Leafs with a full team performance
Epic goalie duel. Woll was a wall. Andersen was his old self.

Breaking down the remaining games we have:

  • Seven home games (NJDx2, WSH, PIT, FLA, TBL, DET)
  • Five away games (BUF, NJD, MTL, FLA, TBL)
  • Seven games against divisional opponents (BUF, FLAx2, TBLx2, MTL, DET)
  • Five against Metro Division teams (NJDx3, PIT, WSH)
  • Six games against teams out of the playoffs picture (MTL, NJDx3, BUF, PIT)
  • Four against teams fighting for the wild card spots (WSH, TBLx2, DET)
  • Two games against a team ahead of us in the standings (FLA)
  • One home/away back to back (vs PIT / @ NJD)
  • One road trip back to back (FLA/TBL)
  • Three final Saturday night games (BUF, MTL, DET)
  • The final home game is against the Detroit Red wings
  • The final road game is against the Tampa Bay lightning.

The Leafs will have a fun time playing spoiler for some teams, and if the wild card race is tight we could even control the Lightning's fate to end the season.

Two games against Florida will be a good test for the first round, unless the Bruins fall out of first place.

The Canadiens will play us hard, trying to win one last "their Stanley Cup" on a Saturday night. Lots of intriguing games coming up, lots of expectations to be set. Bring it on.

Now, some news.
