The first part of the lawsuit has actually been settled already - the Coyotes were granted a temporary restraining order against the city of Glendale. I'm not a lawyer, so I have no idea what filing a restraining order against a whole city means, but the Coyotes seem to think it will help them save their arena, so who know? They may be on to something.
