I agree that this change really this should be traced to Jack Eichel not the US Olympic team per se. I think we shouldn't forget, as this article sort of does, that the agents are driving this process as well. That they have receptive clients who are willing to pay a reputational price to take more control over their lives is the required other part, of course.
