Yesterday afternoon, Athletic reporter Michael Russo vagueposted about a potential delay to the Leafs game today in Minnesota due to safety. He meant a snow storm as the Twin Cities were under a blizzard warning.

On the broadcast, they reported that no firm decision had been made on travel implications. The game is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET which is 6:30 pm local time so the opportunity is there for a delay.

Elliotte Friedman reported last night on HNIC that Auston Matthews should be ready for the next season no matter what his knee looks like after two weeks when they revisit his treatment strategy.

Saturday Headlines: Maple Leafs hopeful Auston Matthews won’t need surgery

This is great and all for the Kings, but they lost the game. They aren't supposed to do that:

Play of the night last night:

Sabres won this one in a shootout, giving the Leafs a point. Sorry they lost/got a point depending on your POV.

Michael Pezzetta played 6:28 in all-situations, and I say again, they have to just send him down or sit him fulltime in the pressbox for Steven Lorentz. I would expect Lorentz to play today unless there's a minor injury we're all unaware of.

Jacob Quillan played 10:10 because he does PK, and he's basically in the roster for that reason.

Bo Groulx has won a real spot for now, with 19:07 played and the same five-on-five time as John Tavares making them the defacto top six centres, no matter what the lineup card said.

A tough schedule is going to be the proof of Groulx's ability to keep this up in a serious way. He is under contract for next season, so no real decision on his place on the team needs to come before next training camp, however.

When we know if/when this game is a go, we'll let you know.

Until then, have a great day.
