If you missed the game last night, you may not yet be aware that Anthony Stolarz was hit by a puck in warmup and was taken to the hospital for precautionary imaging. Joe Woll played in his stead.

"It didn't hit him in the head," says an idiot in the background. Neck injuries can compress major arteries or nerves and cause serious or even life-threatening injures. Precautionary imaging is exactly the right call.

Morgan Rielly was out with an injury from the prior game and is said to be day-to-day.

The Leafs have two days off before yet another back-to-back with travel on Tuesday in Boston and home to New York on Wednesday.

After the Eric Tulsky vs Gary Bettman polite disagreement at the GMs meeting, Kyle Dubas wanted to make a point about a different area of controversy: goalie interference.

No word yet on if he nailed this to the door of the NHL offices.

This was two weeks ago:

And this was yesterday.

In other news, the boarding of Connor Zary will net the offender a phone hearing.

So. Is it just easier to really stir it up over goalie interference than it is hits that are genuinely dangerous?

Because arguing about goalie interference is esoteric rules lawyering, and video freeze frame discussion. It never gets too far into the emotion of hockey and it's physical play.

I haven't heard the NHL ever say if you want a different goalie interference rule, you need to negotiate it in the CBA, either.
