Today will be a frosty day in Ontario. The forecast for the Toronto area has temperatures dropping as low as -20 this morning, with strong winds making it feel much colder than that. The good news is there's lots of sports to watch on TV from the Olympics to some Super Cup or something thingy that will take hours to play and that's after 12 hours of pre-game coverage which has probably already started.
In actual hockey news, Canada's Women's hockey team made their delayed debut yesterday and defeated the Swiss team 4-0. It may not seem that lopsided form the score, but when you look at the simple shots-on-goal stat it 55-6 in favour of Canada. Credit where it's due to the Swiss goalie Saskia Maurer who stopped all but 4 of those 55.
It was Toronto's own Big Spoon who got the first goal for Canada.

The next game for them is Monday against Czechia, and then Tuesday they have what will no doubt be a huge event game against the USA.
Here's a guide to what's happening at the Olympics today.

The Marlies completed their last game before the AHL All-Star Classic last night at the Coliseum, winning 5-1 against the Springfield Thunderbirds (St. Louis Blues affiliates).
The two teams have a bit of history with each other, including a huge brawl from an earlier game this season in Springfield and so it's no surprise there was some fighting in this game, and that it started literally off the first puck drop, clocked at four seconds into the game. By 15 seconds of game time they were up to three fights, but then things mostly settled down.
I'll have more on the game in a separate post later, but if you want to see a highlight now, you all know I love the tip-in goals, so here's one from the game by Luke Haymes.

And here's the game pack, including the action at the start of the game.
Enjoy Super Duper Sunday, and stay warm, perhaps with a hot and rich pasta dish. You have to love any Italian recipe where "the key is a generous amount of fat".
