First off, a big congratulations to the Chicago Hawks and their fans for the Cup win last night.  They've been playing some incredible hockey and that game last night is one of the most enjoyable hockey games I've seen in a while.  Seeing Toews lift the Cup almost brought me to tears.  When the series started, I thought the Hawks winning would be a terrible outcome, but actually seeing them win it made me so happy.  I was so proud of Toews and Ladd for playing through their injuries, and so happy to see a good outcome for fans who have suffered so much.

So now, the longest active drought in the NHL is ours (I suppose since LA and St. Louis have never won their streaks are not considered droughts).  Despite what Damien Cox thinks us Leaf fans feel, I'm proud to own the drought.  It feels like we've owned it for years already, now that we have it, I will wear it as a badge of honour.  It's proof that we aren't bandwagoners, that we have exclusive, loyal devotion to our team no matter what, and it means that when we do win that Cup, it'll be the sweetest feeling in the world.  A feeling that all Hawks fans who have suffered for so long have right now, and one I can't wait to experience.
