The Leafs changed their practice into a small skills session on Wednesday. At Keefe's meeting with the press he shared that the team is dealing with a lot of illness/injury in the latter stages of the season. Keefe didn't make it clear whether it was players catching a bug or everyone being a little banged up.

In Keefe's postgame comments after the New Jersey loss, he called out the players for their standard of play. Very often stuff like that gets said to call-ups or regular scratches when they flub an opportunity to make an impression, so I'm curious if this is what happened on a larger scale because of the number of depth players in the lineup that night.

And because it's always important to hear the full quotes, the video of media availability is below.

On the injury front, Marner will continue skating on Friday and will hopefully be back in a week. Samsonov hit his calf against the post, causing a contusion in the game he got injured in. He says he's healthy but Woll will get the start tonight against Washington. The team is going to check on Rielly today to see how he's progressing and whether he can play.

A summary of the day plus expanded quotes on what Keefe said if you skipped the video.

The Marlies were in overtime in Manitoba last I checked (they win 2-1 in overtime). Tate Singleton (Tater Tot) got the lone regulation goal for the Marlies. Check it out in all its greasiness below. Logan Shaw got the OT winner.

Ryan Tverberg left the game and didn't return after hitting the boards hard.

Fraser Minten spoke with Tony Ferrari to discuss his development and season.

Several prospects are playing playoff hockey throughout the day today. Follow along with Brigs for insight!

Freddy Gauthier's contract with Ajoie in Switzerland has ended and they said he won't be returning. Goats always land on their feet.

Cody Franson is developing as a coach with the Iowa Wild.

In a development that should shock no one, Ted Leonsis used the threat of moving to Virginia to get money out of DC for renovations.
