Detroit Red Wings GM search going through search firm
Detroit Red Wings owner Christopher Ilitch brought in a search firm to help determine the franchise’s next general manager.

The article doesn't name the firm, but it does say this:

Ilitch, and by extension the search firm, is believed to be looking for an analytics-driven person to take charge of the Wings, similar to how his Detroit Tigers plucked Scott Harris from the San Francisco Giants to guide the Tigers as president of baseball operations in September 2022.

A Toronto Sun report references uncited speculation that Sportsnet is planning more changes to its on-air product. My personal feeling is that the praise Amazon received for the technical quality of their broadcasts and the panels and introductions likely struck a nerve.

The youth are still playing hockey:

NHL off-season grades: Atlantic Division
In the Atlantic, a former champ is loading up and another is trying to get back on its feet. Ryan Dixon offers up his grades on the moves the division’s teams made this off-season.

The other divisions are up on the site as well if you're into that sort of thing.

The offseason is not actually over yet. There are a clutch of non-retired UFAs unsigned, and a few RFAs as well, notably the rudderless Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson and forwards Cutter Gauthier and Adam Fantilli. Most teams have either some cap space or an LTIR candidate to create space. So more player signings are definitely possible as training camp approaches.

That's it for now, today's T25 offering is another reminder of all the new faces, and if you haven't voted in the community vote...
