The Canadian Men's hockey team won their quarter-final game against Czechia on Wednesday securing them a spot in the semi-finals against Finland on Friday morning (ET). The USA will play Slovakia in the afternoon. The questions about the game today are all about the gigantic flub by the officials missing a long running too many men on the ice situation by the Czechs. I suspect we won't see those officials in the finals.

Among everyone here who didn't see it, including it seems the Canadian bench, were most of the Czechs. Just talked to a bunch of their players who had no idea. Were shocked when I showed them the screenshots. Only one acknowledged he knew they had 6 on. https://t.co/wFVusESip3

The men's semi-finals are tomorrow. Canada plays

Today is about the women's medal games, and it's Canada vs. USA going for gold at 1:00 p.m. ET, though the day starts with the bronze medal game of Switzerland vs. Sweden at 8:30 a.m. ET.
The Marlies played one of their four at-home school day games yesterday and wound up with a 3-2 loss to the Hershey Bears. Marlies' coach John Gruden said "I didn't like the way we played today. I wasn't very happy with how we responded in the third period," adding "We had a commanding 2-0 lead and we were playing extremely well, and for whatever reason we thought we would do our own thing out there and freelance a little bit and it bit us in the butt. Hopefully we can learn from it, but it's getting to the point where some of the guys are going to have to step up a little bit here."
Here is the game highlights pack.
This comes after a weekend where they split a series against the Laval Rocket, losing in Laval last Friday, and then winning in a shootout on Monday here in Toronto. You may recognise the name of the only one to score in that shootout.

The Marlies now hit the road for the next three games, with back-to-back games against the Cleveland Monsters on Friday and Saturday, followed by a trip to Laval on Wednesday. Their next home games are a weekend back-to-back against the Chicago Wolves starting Saturday February 28.
Here are the current standings in the North Division and as you can see, defeating the Monsters this weekend is critical to get points and vault above them.
