Right. I’m going to look past all of this and begin Monday with a fresh breath of optimism and eagerness for another week to begin. Last week was a disaster for the Toronto Maple Leafs. From losing 6-2 to the best team in the league - the Tampa Bay Lightning - to losing 6-2 to the worst team in the league - the Ottawa Senators.

Oh my God, I just put that together.

No.

This is now a new week, with new games, and a chance to rub the Sabres faces in the dirt as they once again check up on the draft lottery odds while we panic and wonder about how we’ll lose to Boston in the first round once again.

Sorry, sorry, I’m trying to delete that last line.

The Maple Leafs take off tomorrow for a game against the Nashville Predators, then game two of a back to back road trip with a stop off in Buffalo on the way home. Saturday night is the rebuilding New York Rangers.

The Clarkson Cup is this Sunday and that’s always something to look forward to. It’s at the Coca~Cola Coliseum in Toronto this year, with the puck drop at noon. Now, none of the GTA teams are playing, Markham was eliminated by Montreal and Calgary knocked out Toronto.

Well, I mean, it’ll still be fun right?

Well, yeah. I guess.

This optimism thing is hard.

Here are some links.

There’s a new episode of Back to Excited out, about the Leafs past...few...games...ugh

This is nonsense. Habs fans should be burning cop cars over missing the playoffs. And for making them. And winning a game.

Even if they miss the playoffs, Montreal has a clear road forward
