Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans!

Alright, that’s as much excitement as I can muster. It’s the last day of August, and the newest news I can find about the Maple Leafs I already wrote up on Sunday:

Report: Maple Leafs may play an outdoor game in Hamilton March 13

We also have Semyon Der-Arguchintsev’s entry into the Top 25:

2021 Top 25 Under 25: Semyon Der-Arguchintsev is #15

And Katya wrote up the NHL’s silly economics:

Monday’s blog: the NHL does not work on Econ 101 rules

Around the NHL we have the same news about the Carolina Hurricanes offer sheet to Jesper Kotkaniemi:

'Legitimate chance' Canadiens considering not matching Kotkaniemi offer sheet

The Nashville Predators re-upped Eli Tolvanen for three more years:

Nashville Predators sign Eeli Tolvanen to three-year deal

So, what do we have to look forward to?

The Traverse City prospect tournament is still scheduled to go ahead, with the Red Wings, Blues, Stars, Blue Jackets, and Maple Leafs all participating:

Traverse Prospect Tournament Schedule

Game one is Thursday September 16th at 3PM.

Ahead of that, the Maple Leafs would usually hold their rookie camp, but no official word on that has come out yet, aside from invitees names being leaked:

Théo Rochette to be invited to the Maple Leafs Prospect Camp — Report

It’s a slow week for news, but that’s just to encourage us to enjoy the summer we have left.

Go outside, pet an alpaca, enjoy your day!
