The Maple Leafs played their final game of the pre-season Saturday night and picked up a definitive win over the Ottawa Senators. Here’s our recap of the game.

Leafs win last preseason game before the real thing on Wednesday

Next for the Leafs are the final roster cuts before the main event begins. The first game of the regular season is Wednesday, so any player that needs to be placed on waivers or sent to the Marlies directly will see that happen in about the next 48 hours.

One unfortunate wrinkle in these plans cropped up last night when Ilya Mikheyev injured his hand in an awkward fall. The man is cursed. He just can’t catch a break with this team.

Sheldon Keefe said after the game that it doesn’t look good, but they need to examine his hand further to be certain. This could open a roster spot for a winger who would otherwise be sent to the Marlies if Mikheyev does have to go on the injured reserve list. We should know more soon.

Meanwhile, it was a big day for several Leafs prospects that all decided they would score some nice goals as a Thanksgiving appetizer.

OK, this one is actually a #leafsprospectsnotscoring, but Kevin is correct, it is a filthy move.
