Today is when the countdown begins. We'll have #25 out at 8 am for you.
Sources say an arbitrator has ruled in favour of the Philadelphia Flyers in a grievance filed by the NHLPA following the termination of Ryan Johansen’s contract in August, 2024. The Flyers cited a “material breach” as grounds for termination.

More details here on the original dispute, if you've forgotten it:

Johansen hasn't played since before his contract was terminated, and at 33 and coming off his surgery, well, he'd get $4 million if he was a righty defender.
As Postmedia reported yesterday, the price for land at LeBreton was north of $30 million. To clarify, I am hearing today that the #Sens will pay over $35 million for the 11 acres once this transaction is completed with the NCC.

There's stories out there built off a podcast that had Kyle Dubas as a guest. If you want to hear what he said:

In other news, Seattle signed defender Ryker Evans to a two-year deal for $2.05 million. This is an excellent bargain deal for a good defender who is only 23.
There were no trades.
No other NHL news to report, and that's it for today. Have a good one.
