The Leafs beat the Flames in a good but not great outing, that was nonetheless better than their average to date. Moneypuck's deserve to min meter had the Leafs at 67%.
This is all-situations and it shows where that percentage is coming from, but a lot of that it power play time. At five-on-five, there was less quality offence.

That said, at least one power play looked like passing practice along the top of the umbrella, so the execution is still fading in and out. Edited to add: there was a great deal of quality offence on the power play, but not consistently.
But it was a good game overall. Anthony Stolarz looked a little leaky in the five hole (that sounds bad) but he actually allowed fewer goals than expected because the defending was still not up to what it should be.
So did the Matthews line win their minutes? By Corsi, almost; by Fenwick, yes; and by Expected Goals, dramatically so.
On the downside, John Tavars, who was excellent, did not get his 500th goal.
Okay, now for the fun stuff:
Max Domi had two outstanding goals, the first and the last.

And a very nice goal:

Not a perfect outing, but a good enough performance, and hopefully something to build on. There's clearly a lot of work to do yet.

In terms of imperfect outings though, who can beat Sportsnet crapping out in the World Series? I enjoyed a stroll through social media to see the full range of error codes people got, none of which indicated who the guilty party actually was.
The Jays were fine though, and the series is tied up again with game four tomorrow night – possibly viewable of Sportsnet.
The ending to Flyers-Penguins was WILD 🤯

Nobody with a misconduct could go in the shootout.
