Yesterday was the Men's Playoff round to decide the four lower-ranked teams in the quarterfinals today, and all went as expected. They weren't blowouts, but no one was in danger of advancing out of the top four playing.

Todays schedule is:

  • Slovakia vs Germany at 6 am ET
  • Canada vs Czechia at 10:30 am
  • Finland vs Switzerland at noon
  • USA vs Sweden at 3 pm
Report: Czechia’s Faksa out against Canada
Czechia forward Radek Faksa will not play in Wednesday’s quarter-final matchup against Canada, according to Czech reporter Robert Rampa.

Josh Morrissey and Brad Marchand might be coming back in for Canada.

The women's medal games are tomorrow.


The AHL had two positive tests for PEDs. I looked around and cannot find any sign that either the AHL or the NHL has made their list of banned substances public. The WADA list is available online, and it includes a long list of things including masking agents.

There seems to be a desire to believe these supplement tales of woe, but I find it all a little too, "look at me, I'm a dumb jock," to believe.

The Leafs were back practicing today, and some of the injured were on the ice.
