The Florida Panthers tied the series 1-1 in Edmonton on Friday night with a 5-4 overtime win. The series shifts to Florida for two games on Monday and Thursday (two days off between both games). This series is not expected to hit Game 6 until August.

It was a back-and-forth first period ending with the Oilers up 3-2, but then two goals from the Panthers in the second meant the Oilers needed a game-tying goal from Corey Perry with 18 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. That is when I went to bed, not knowing how many overtimes they needed. I hope the result was satisfying!

Derek Lalonde, whom Leafs fans will know very well from the first round Sportsnet broadcast, has been hired by the Leafs to replace Lane Lambert as an assistant coach to Craig Berube.
