Every summer (and that one time in the fall) staff and invited guests and alumni of PPP Kitten Ranching and Ur-Quan Fighter Development GmbH craft the definitive list of the top 25 Toronto Maple Leafs players and prospects under the age of 25.
The process is very rigorous. It requires intensive mental discipline that makes the Vulcan Kolinhar look as easy as learning Tyler Seguin’s "dating tips" (you all need to up your "watch game").
After a gruelling three to five weeks of trying to get our staff to actually bother to vote, we come to a consensus and craft the final ranking of the players.
Our list is the gold standard. It is read far and wide beyond the boundaries of our parents’ basements by coaches, general managers and independent scouts. No one ranks players better than PPP. No one.
For some reason, we also let you tempest-tossed huddled masses yearning to be PPP elite participate in this process. As usual, YOU WENT AND RUINED IT ALL!
We let you vote in one player who didn’t make our cut to your top 25 list, and what did you do? You ranked him 26th! What was the point! Poor unloved Viktor Loov. And what is it with you people and Zach Hyman? Did he pay you all to vote him up every chance you got?
I’m shocked Joel Champagne wasn’t a write in candidate for no. 1 (ASSET MANAGEMENT, PEOPLE!).
You all fail, and, no, we will not be refunding the $1,000 membership fee you agreed to pay in the Terms of Service you didn't bother to read when you registered your account! It's coming out of your bank account tonight, FYI!
Anyway, here’s your final rankings vs. ours and mine for posterity.
Seriously though, thanks to all who voted!
