Six in five: how is the Leafs points pace?

New, comments

Game 60 is in the books, let’s see the points charts.

With the sixtieth game done, we can look at the points pace the Leafs are keeping. At 55 games, I said that the Leafs needed to up their pace to greater than their average to arrive at the 98 points the six points in five games goal requires. They haven’t done that.

By looking at the rolling chart for the season, you can see they are not dipping down nearly as bad as they did last year at this time, but the overall pace of play is actually at 5.66 points per five games. That multiplies out to 93 points on the season.

This might be enough to make the playoffs even if they don’t pick it up, but help might be required by way of other teams losing more than they have been lately. I’m looking at you, Islanders.
