Ottawa Senators at Toronto Maple Leafs - Game #2

Time: 7:00PM

Location: Scotiabank Arena

Broadcast/Streaming: CBC, NHLtv - Free game

Opponent SBNation Site: Silver Seven Sens

It’s game number two for the Toronto Maple Leafs season, and since it’s been a two-day gap between games, we filled that time with panic and hand wringing over William Nylander’s absence and the lacklustre play we saw in game one.

My feelings on this are: I’m still not worried about Nylander and have no ill will towards either party in the situation, and meh, it’s one game.

Our opponents are the Ottawa Senators, the team who took the Chicago Blackhawks to overtime in their season opening game - which to a casual observer seems like quite the accomplishment, but we all know it means nothing this season. Oh no, you took the team that’s as deep as a kiddie pool and running their 2nd and 3rd string goalies to OT to start the year? How precious.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Forward Lines

Zach Hyman - John Tavares - Mitchell Marner
Patrick Marleau - Auston Matthews - Tyler Ennis
Josh Leivo - Nazem Kadri - Connor Brown
Andreas Johnsson - Par Lindholm - Kasperi Kapanen

Everything seems to be staying the same, no differences between games.

Defence Pairings

Morgan Rielly - Ron Hainsey
Jake Gardiner - Nikita Zaitsev
Travis Dermott - Igor Ozhiganov

There was one big announcement about the defenders today: Justin Holl will wear #3 this season.

Goaltenders

Frederik Andersen - starter
Garret Sparks

Tomorrow night the Leafs are in Chicago and if we follow the goaltending pattern from last year Sparks should make his season debut. Hopefully it goes as well as his first Leafs debut.

Ottawa Senators

Alex Formenton - Chris Tierney - Mikkel Boedker
Magnus Paajarvi - Max McCormick - Tom Pyatt

The Senators have also recalled Paul Carey from Belleville for this weekend.

Okay, so I came into this season ready to laugh at the Canadiens, but I was shown that they are, in fact, not quite laughable yet.

But tonight, oh tonight is a tank of a different colour. Get ready for a Thanksgiving weekend laugher everybody.
