Petr Mrázek on IR, to miss four weeks

Who could have possibly seen this coming?

After missing last night’s game, the Toronto Maple Leafs have officially announced that Petr Mrázek is going on injured reserve to work on a groin injury:

Mrázek has only played two games so far this season for the Leafs, missing the majority of the season healing this injury or that. Michael Hutchinson has filled in for him before this year and Joseph Woll is currently up with the Maple Leafs backing up Jack Campbell.

This injury most likely ties back to his first game of the season, on October 14th, when he left the Leafs second game due to a groin injury.

We’ll see after the Marlies get back from their road trip if the Leafs keep Woll up or turn to the veteran in Hutchinson to be the backup while Mrázek is out.

The IR status is retroactive to November 4th so we most likely won’t see Petr back in a game until December 2nd earliest.
