Maple Leafs Depth Chart: 2018 post-trade deadline edition

New, comments

The depth chart is updated with all the new Maple Leafs.

Detroit Red Wings v Chicago Blackhawks

We haven’t had much cause to update the depth chart or the pipeline list in a while, but here they are for you with the 2018 NHL trade deadline moves included.

First the depth chart, which has the new players added, and has been rearranged a little. Carl Grundström is still at the bottom, since he’s playing in a different league. This is all the NHL-contracted players in the Maple Leafs system, arranged by natural position and general order of best to less best.

And since this table looks a little weird on some versions of mobile view: the Google sheet.

Just a note on the players whose rights expire on June 1. While the league year does not end until the end of June, if the Leafs should choose to offer an ELC to any of those players (or anyone else) for next season, it does not count against the current SPC limit.

You might expect to see some of those players on the Marlies this spring on try-out deals. Both Pierre Engvall and Jesper Lindgren came over last year. This year, the intriguing chance exists for Yegor Korshkov to make an appearance, but there is no word if the Leafs have plans to do that.
