In addition to seeming like a pretty cool guy, Garret Sparks has pretty cool goalie gear. Of course, he has to; otherwise, how could he be a leader of Goalie Gear Sluts United? Remember how he went Trevor Kidd-style last year?
This year, though, he’s got a new set going: retro style Brian’s, and they look sharp.
You can’t say Sparks doesn’t look great. Through 17 games in the NHL last season, he posted a .893 save percentage, including a shutout in his very first game. In the AHL, he posted .928 through 21 games.
The NHL numbers could use some work; then again, he’s only 23, and most young goalies’ NHL numbers can use some work. Those AHL numbers are absolutely fantastic, though. So here’s to a great season ahead for Sparks - he’s definitely gonna look good throughout it.
