Our apologies for the late FTB. The kittens staged a revolt and attempted to take over both the ranch, and our hyperspace weapons research facility. Order was restored when we distracted them with a toy mouse that makes crinkly noises.

The Marlies won their first playoff game against the Sound Tigers. They play the second game today in Bridgeport at 5pm, and then all remaining games will be back here at Ricoh Coliseum, the first of which is Thursday. You can listen to the game live on TSN1050.

Marlies win playoff opener despite sitting out recent leading scorer Colin Smith - PPP
When you can sit your leading scorer of two months and win convincingly, your team is pretty good. The Marlies did that in their 4-1 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in Game 1 of their pursuit of the Calder Cup.

We said goodbye to the Rangers yesterday. They really looked like they game up, especially after Lundqvist let in the fifth goal. Today could see up to three more teams eliminated.

The Day The New York Rangers' Music Died - Blueshirt Banter
The Rangers are at a crossroads. They might not have much control over what path they take, either.

I think the early Capitals @ Flyers game will be the most interesting of the day. And I do mean early. It's on at noon. How shocking would it be if The Flyers somehow made a comeback and won the series? They've done it before! They even made a commercial about it.

They Flyers then went on to defeat the Canadiens in the Eastern Conference final, but then Mike Richards touched the Prince of Wales trophy and fucked it all up.

The Flyers were destroyed in the Stanley Cup finals, launching the Blackhawks dynasty. Thanks a lot, Mike. Richards is of course now playing for the Capitals. I am sure they will not let him anywhere near that thing if they do make it through to the final.

Today's schedule, all times EDT

Noon: Capitals @ Flyers on CBC and NBC

3:00PM: Stars @ Wild on SN and NBC

7:00PM: Panthers @ Islanders on CBC and NBCSN

Speaking of the Blackhawks.... can you pull it together Blues? Things are getting testy.
