So the Leafs play two games in the middle of the week, and then they take another five days off. All but Auston — poor guy. What are we supposed to do in the middle of winter with no NHL hockey for five days again? This just seems like poor planning, an NHL hallmark.

Normally we hate the Sabres and laugh at them, but last night they beat the Oilers 5-0:

Eichel has four points as the Sabres blank the Oilers with a 5-0 win

James Reimer left the game as the Panthers bored the Dallas Stars a little. Don’t they know they’re supposed to wearing the Stars out for us?

And by pounce we mean both literally (with lots of fighting!) and offensively (with lots of goals!) This game had it all!

Speaking of, it looks like the Leafs loosened the lid on yet another team for the Habs. Too bad that’s about the only time the Habs win.

Absolutely nothing is happening in Leafs land but the new practice lines which the entire planet has heard about twice over. Argue about them here or in this post and tell us if they’re super great or totally super great:

Kasperi Kapenen is up and Frederik Gauthier is down - Pension Plan Puppets
That’s interesting, but the practice lines are amazing.

We also have the Mailbag and an idea about who should play on the PK for you to read:

All that and more in this edition of the mailbag.

A little 4 on 5 for #34 couldn’t hurt.

Have a good Wednesday, everyone!
