A shutout win and a trade all in one night. Nothing is going to slow the Maple Leafs down!
Eric Fehr was traded as we all assumed, but not to the Anaheim Ducks surprisingly. After spending most of the season with the Ducks AHL team Fehr is now with the San Jose Sharks. In return the Maple Leafs get a 2020 7th round pick.
Earlier in the day the Boston Bruins acquired Nick Holden from the New York Rangers for Rob O’Gara and a 2018 3rd rounder. Back to back days with two trades. Only six more days of trading left, whats on deck for today?
Last night the Maple Leafs also defeated the Florida Panthers in a shutout, finally breaking the ‘Tuesday night vs a Southeast Division’ team curse. Damn it was a good day. Here’s some more news.

The Eric Fehr Trade: How the Toronto Maple Leafs turned waiver claim Frank Corrado into two draft picks - MLHS
In the end, by holding onto Corrado (who was claimed off of waivers by the Leafs in 2015, and hasn’t established himself as a regular NHLer in three different cities now at age 24) until the deadline last year rather than waiving him at some point during the season, and then taking on Fehr’s contract in the trade, the Leafs managed to squeeze the asset for all it was worth.
