Thursday’s FTB: PPP predicts the future

What’s next? Torts wins the Jack Adams?

A few weeks ago I published an article with bad jokes as some pre-playoff filler, giving out awards to players who are the antitheses of the actual awards.

Patrick Laine for the Selke, Ryan Kesler for Hart, etc...

When I got to the King Clancy Trophy I wrote this:

The Sean Avery’s Career Memorial Trophy
Actual award: King Clancy Memorial Trophy

The King Clancy Award is “Awarded to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.”

Well, the best I can figure the opposite of this to be is someone who makes a noteworthy contribution, but only because he was forced to.

So, I give the Sean Avery Trophy to Tom Wilson, for his $882,113.71 contribution to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund after he was suspended 14 games for checking Oskar Sundqvist in the head.

We would like to thank Tom for his contributions to the fund that will help the victims of his hits after their careers are over.

Then, yesterday the actual award nominees came out. Zach Hyman was the Maple Leafs nominee for the award and if you click the link you can scroll and find out who the others are:

Yes. Tom Wilson is the Washington Capitals nominee for the King Clancy Award.

I’m psychic.

Now, the news.

The Florida Panthers are being good neighbours.

Yes, Hi, we’ll take one Sidney Crosby please. We could use a good third line centre

The vultures are circling.

Only because the Leafs have more than enough goalies in the system.

That’s funny, judging by his Twitter I thought Milan Lucic was the most defensive forward.

Thank you, and good night.

Oh, and there was a Leafs game or something last night.
