Last night the Ontario Hockey League announced the nominations for several year end awards and Toronto Maple Leafs fans should see some familiar names.

OHL Announces 2018-19 Awards Finalists – Ontario Hockey League

Mac Hollowell - D - Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds

The Greyhounds defender is up for two awards: Overager of the Year and Defenceman of the Year.

Ryan McGregor - C - Sarnia Sting

McGregor faces off against Hollowell for the Overager of the Year award, and he’s also the Sarnia Sting’s nominee for Most Outstanding Player.

Justin Brazeau - RW - North Bay Battalion

The newest member of the Toronto Marlies has two nominations himself, and he’s up against another prospect for both. Brazeau is also nominated for Overager of the Year and is the North Bay Battalion’s nominee for Most Outstanding Player.

He’s also been awarded one first round playoff loss courtesy of the Niagara IceDogs.

No, I do not like the Battalion at all, why do you ask?

The award winners will be announced throughout the remainder of the OHL playoffs, and the ceremony is held June 5th at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.

Speaking of prospects, Ian Scott and the Prince Albert Raiders first three game sin round two of the WHL playoffs will be featured on Sportsnet 360 over the next few days.

Game 1 - TONIGHT! - 9PM
Game 2 - Sunday April 7th - 8PM
Game 3 - Tuesday April 9th - 9PM

After that the NHL playoffs start so CHL games may be harder to find on national TV.
