Michael Hutchinson shuts out the Islanders; Leafs win 3-0

We never doubted William Nylander here and we never will. All of us at PPP Hockey Player Rankings and Industrial Kitten Robots SK ranked him at #3 or higher in our Top 25 Under 25 this past summer. Yep. Every single member of our collective hive-mind was unanimous on that ranki...

Uh oh.

In my defence, I ranked Rasmus Sandin at #3, and I am not retracting that ranking. Sandin has been awesome in the World Juniors tournament and I can’t wait to see what this 19 year-old has in store for the Leafs organisation in the coming years. However, there’s no denying William Nylander is having an impressive season, the kind we’ve always expected of him. 19 goals and 19 assists in 43 games played (one of only six Leafs to be in all games this season) is spectacular.

The Leafs next game is Monday against the Oilers here in Toronto. I hate Monday games, and I bet they do too, but here we are.

The Marlies are back to winning, and I mean winning. They blew up the Rochester Americans yesterday, winning 5-2. Egor Korshkov who was so excited he gave the ref a hug on his goal.

The Marlies host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers affiliates) at 4:00 p.m. today. I will be there at the game to give you updates.
