Yesterday was perhaps the greatest day in the history of the Scotiabank Arena.

Greater than Mats Sundins 500th goal. Greater than the Toronto Raptors championship. Greater than every Toronto Rock game ever played.

Yesterday Toronto Public Health worked with numerous volunteers and MLSE to set a world record for COVID-19 vaccinations by giving the vaccine to 25,000+ people.

If the SBA can’t host a Maple Leafs Stanley Cup final this year, I guess this is a pretty good alternative use for the arena.

Speaking of the Stanley Cup Final, game one between the Montreal Canadiens and the Tampa Bay Lightning is tonight at 8PM on CBC, Sportsnet, TVA Sports, NBC Sports, and all the streaming platforms that carry it.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are looking to win Cup number three, which would bump them up ahead of fellow two-timers Colorado Avalanche, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and tie them with the New Jersey Devils in Cup wins.

The Montreal Canadiens want the 25th championship they’ve been chasing for the past 28 years. A win would put them just two rings behind the New York Yankees (27 World Series wins) for most championships for a North American sports franchise.

Gross, right? Go Bolts.

Here’s some news:

Will they win? Despite winning every series they’ve played in while being the odds favourite to lose, people are still calling them underdogs against the Tampa Bay Lightning:
